Things and Stuff
The other night I made pizza in the shape of an apostrophe.
The launch went fairly well. What was important was that my friends were there - more people than I expected showed up and it really meant a lot to me. Thanks guys - it was awesome to catch up. You're all delicious. Thanks to Speedies for supporting us, and for supporting my Shave for a Cure.
Oh, yes, that's right, lone blog reader - I shaved my head to raise money for leukaemia research. I raised over $600, which is pretty cool.
I'm writing a lot of assignments, or I should be. I'm really tired, and frankly I feel like shit tonight. I probably just need sleep. But there's that kind of empty hopelessness hanging around.
How grim.
I pierced my right earlobe this evening because I was bored.
This is funny because, according to my blog, I last pierced my ears myself almost exactly one year ago. I remember that day. It was swimming carnival and I was wearing my cap backwards. Our house came third in the warcry, which stung, because I'd written the warcry and I was certain it was a winner (Go Gibson Lightnings - you're burning up the quarter mile; go Gibson, go go Gibson... Real quality stuff. Channelling Byron, Shelley etc...) There was a girl I liked at the time and that day I mentioned that I thought she was gorgeous, mysterious. She never looked me in the eye again.
So I pierced my ears. Not really as a result, but just for something to do.
I do funny things when I'm bored.
Anyway, I was talking about assignments before. Uni is awesome. I love the atmosphere and the people and so on and so forth. The assignments have sort of piled up on me, and now I have to do some work. Normally I'm on top of things like this, but somehow I've fallen out of sync. I'm working on it.
I need sleep.
I need pizza in the shape of apostrophes.
And I need a good dose of love.
I'm going to see a German film on Tuesday called The Lives of Others. It is fortuitous that it came out this week because I'm writing an article about East Germany and a book called Stasiland. I'll tell you more about it some other time. I'm also writing eight terzanelles about water. I've written one to start with. They rock back and forth. I have a forty minute oral to organise and research and stuff, and a film script to write, sans dialogue.
Tim & I - our performance duo Purple Lilac - submitted a piece to Going Down Swinging this week. Wish us luck. and stuff.
Good night,
Zenobia
