Batman Begins

Wow, I just saw Batman Begins and it is easily the best of the Batman films - surpassing even Tim Burton's contributions. It really goes back to its comic book roots and is clever and mysterious. Excellent script, superb acting, great cinematography. The plot keeps you guessing, and links beautifully with other parts of the Batman world, such as later villians et cetera. The only things that brings the film down is Katie Holmes's complete lack of screen presence. Christian Bale (Velvet Goldmine) is excellent as Batman. Really shibby film.

Takes me right back to being five years old, dressed in a black cape and mask, jumping off the stairs, teaching my best friend how to fly. Takes me back to sitting next to my dad watching the cartoon on TV. Takes me back to believing I could be a superhero.
