I never could get the hang of Thursdays

Today was a Thursday, and I never could get the hang of Thursdays. Incidently, today was Killer Thursday and I didn't get a lunchtime. I'm rather starving, and I'm about to settle down to a nice sandwich, but the overwhelming novelty of having a blog called.

As well as being a Thursday, today was also Healing Day. That's the new name for national Sorry Day. For those of you who don't know your Australian history, a couple of hundred years ago some English blokes turned up in Australia and said, "You natives don't have ugly brick houses and fox hunting, therefore we claim this empty land for Britain!" Naturally, the indigenous people (in particular the stolen generation) of Australia weren't very happy about this travesty of justice, and are still waiting for an apology. Granted, we aren't the very people who took their land and children off them, but we still have a moral obligation to be genial and unite ourselves as one people. Reconciliation, in other words. Quite frankly, I think our fuckwit prime minister is acting like a child to be too proud to say two words ("We're sorry"), even as he abolishes ATSIC, the fool. Nonetheless, happy Healing Day. For what it's worth, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry for what happened but we didn't do it, in some cases it was our ancestors, in some cases it wasn't people we are even related to so yeah I guess while Australians should say sorry I don't think any particular person should be the one to apologize. (except John Howard because he's the Prime Minister so he can do it)
