Schoolies

Spent a (generally) great week at Woodgate for Schoolies. Woodgate is a sleepy little town about an hour from Bundy, and it has beautiful beaches and a total of six shops: fish 'n' chips, thai, clothes, post office, bakery, general store. Everyone knows everyone, but the 16 km of beaches are generally clear of people.

Highlights:
  • going crab-chasing at night
  • body-boarding in the surf
  • chilling out in the hammocks
  • cooking food O.O - actually worked out
  • the odd drink
  • long walks on the beach, shell collecting, burying ourselves, building sand temples
  • pasta sauce on toast. every morning.
  • the marriage of Noodles and Chief on the beach (see photo)
  • rituals ("BLOOD FOR BAAL" *Zorba's Dance*) on the last night
  • Tina Quotes... "My car's on fire again. What did I do to deserve this? THERE IS NO GOD!"
  • staring contests with kangaroos
  • jellyglobbles on the beach (pictured)
  • trying to find Bibi a rentboy
  • opening a mexican restaurant in the colourful hammock
  • performing 'Sweet Transvestite' whilst sweeping up
  • singing along to Mary Poppins
  • the awesome Thai lady and consequent BEST DINNER EVER
  • sleeping in

Something notably odd that happened was this: about Thursday the ocean began to stink, producing greenish cottage-cheese like foam. While I thought it had a yeast infection, it turned out it was the ocean detoxing, and it does this every November. We unfortunately hit at the wrong time, and couldn't swim for the rest of the week while the coral spores (the green stuff) died off. This meant a lot more trips to the fish & chip shop.

Thanks to the ladies that came, see you all soon <3
