Poets For Pride and other things
The other day I went for a walk to the park in the afternoon, and a couple were under some trees, in the open, in direct view of the playground, having a picnic with their pants down. Yes, people fucking on the grass in my park. I gave them a big wave, and laughed all the way home.
Yesterday was a full day rehearsal for a school concert that ran for 4 and a half hours, till 11pm. Backstage lit opium blue, and I saw photography everywhere. Wish I had my camera. I became feverishly inspired, wrote poetry all over the back of my music. One of the stage technicians is in it somewhere. I'll send it to him when I'm finished, and ask him to let me come in and take photographs. Shannon Barclay wasn't the name I wanted him to have.
Forbidden Fruit will be accepting Queer Poetry submissions for its second anthology this year. There is a fundraiser (which I'm reading at) on the 11th June, 5pm - 9pm at the Emerald Room, the Pavillion, West End. $6 Pride Members and Concessions, $8 full. All funds go to Forbidden Fruit. Alicia Bennett and Kirsty Apps will be headlining, while the Dykes on Mykes ladies MC. Open mic. Submit 2 poems to forbiddenfruit-poets@hotmail.com. Will be heaps of fun!
